Genesis 21:3-6

_”Abraham named his son – whom Sarah bore to him – Isaac. When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him just as God had commanded him to do. (Now Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.) Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”_

Hello Precious child of the Most High. In our days of life pressures in a seemingly frustrating world, emotional dissatisfaction and sorrow have become dominant in our lives. However, when God visits a person in the midst of his or her frustration, laughter becomes the new feeling in his or her life.

After over 25 years of marriage, Abraham and Sarah had gotten a child. When Isaac’s birth was prophesied, Sarah laughed, wondering how a 90 year old woman would conceive and have a child. Miraculously, the child was eventually born and named, ‘Isaac’, meaning, ‘Laughter’. God had made her laugh.

Humanly speaking, standing firm for God in our generation is not easy at all. It takes a lot of faith to continuously hope in God for a moment of lifelong laughter. You will see the wicked becoming rich and seemingly having it all while you struggle in genuine effort and sincere hope in the Lord. You do wonder when your breakthrough is coming.

Beloved, one thing I have come to know for sure about our God is that He is a master planner and when He finishes His work in a person’s life, that person ends up with tears of joy and laughter.

I want to inspire you today. Be faithful to God to the very end. Do not compare yourself with the wicked. Day in and out, your laughter is drawing near. You shall surely laugh again so keep pressing on. God bless you.

Thank You Father for refreshing my hope this morning. Please grant me the grace to hold on to You no matter my circumstances as I trust You to cause me to laugh again, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

What is it that I’ve been crying about?
