Genesis 12:17-19

_”But the LORD struck Pharaoh and his household with severe diseases because of Sarai, Abram’s wife. So Pharaoh summoned Abram and said, “What is this you have done to me? Why didn’t you tell me that she was your wife? Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her to be my wife? Here is your wife! Take her and go!”_

Hello Precious one. Today as we continue with our inspiring series on the life of Abraham, there is a message of hope for us to look at today.

As we walk with God, there are times we make great mistakes as a result of some fears or difficulties. Some of these wrongdoings often come with unbearable consequences and we end up not knowing what to do to remedy the situation. However, the good news is that, God always intervenes to fight on behalf of His own even when they have made mistakes and deserve condemnation.

That was the situation Abraham found himself in. He had willingly let his wife away into the household of Pharaoh. Pharaoh had the liberty to do whatever he desired with Sarah. He had compensated Abraham with cattle but then his wife could not be exchanged for any material compensation. In his state of hopelessness, God intervened.

God struck Pharaoh’s household with severe diseases because he took Sarah for wife. Pharaoh queried Abraham for lying to him and eventually dismissed him from Egypt. He had a covenant with God, made a mistake in his human wisdom that almost cost him his wife but God stepped in to help him.

Beloved, I do not know the mistakes or consequences of sin you may be suffering from. However, God wants you to know that even if you’ve erred, when you repent and come to Him, He will intervene and help you overcome the consequences of your actions. Think about this.

Heavenly Father, thank You, for great is Your mercy and love. Please deliver me from the consequences of my mistakes and sins and grant me grace to seek Your will for every moment of my life. In Jesus name, amen.

_Question for Meditation_
Will God help me out of troubles I have caused for myself?
