The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has banned referee David Laryea for life and has handed seven Ghanaian referees 10 years ban from all CAF related football activities.

This decision was taken following the investigative piece by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas on corruption in Ghana football where several of the referees on camera receiving bribes.

The Disciplinary Board of CAF held a meeting in order to decide over the cases of the referees named by media as being corrupted on CAF and Federation Matches on 5th August 2018.
