Tremor in Accra: Prepare for earthquakes – Geological Service warns

The Ghana Geological Survey Authority has warned that some parts of the country could soon experience an imminent earthquake. This follows a string of tremors that hit some communities in the capital, Accra. On Sunday, some parts of Accra experienced the earth tremor which reportedly lasted for a few seconds. ECG’s losses swell to GH¢1.15bn in six months ahead of Meralco ‘takeover’

Despite budgeting to record a loss of GH¢136.45 million in the first six months of this year, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) suffered a net loss of GH¢1.15 billion as of June 2018, largely due to foreign exchange losses resulting from the cedi depreciation, lower tariffs and strong growth in inefficiencies. The half-year loss was more than double the loss the company posted in the whole of 2017. Akufo-Addo leaves for Japan on 3-day official visit

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,  left Ghana on Sunday, December 9, 2018, for a three-day official visit to Japan, at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzō Abe. Wontumi to challenge Mahama’s ‘3rd term’ in office as President at Supreme Court

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has initiated moves aimed at preventing former President John Dramani Mahama from seeking another term in office.
